DHCP latency?

I have a set of blade servers in a switched enclosure. I boot with PXE and it hangs getting a DHCP address. (same subnet) If I plug the switch into a hub connected to another switch which has portfast enabled, I am able to get an IP address. However, my network admin is fearful of enabling portfast from one switch to another due to the danger of network loops. I'm guessing this is just a timing issue. Is there something I can do on the DHCP server to allow more time for the DHCP process to complete?
