Server Deployment 7.2 Update 2 and NIC Firmware updates
Hi
I've noticed that on recent versions of RDP / Server Deployment, the Update Firmware job seems to have stopped updating NIC firmware.
For example, if I run the canned job "Update System Firmware" it will run through and succeed. But then if I boot the same server off the SPP 2013.09 ISO, it will give me options to update the NIC (and actually also the HBA) firmwares.
I've tried running an additional step and specifying the correct CPxxxxx.scexe files with an -c option to the hpsum, but it just ignores them and says no updates required.
Anyone else come across this and/or fixed it?

Re: Server Deployment 7.2 Update 2 and NIC Firmware updates
Hmm, there should be a cpqsetup log generate form the firmware install on the deployment server (for RDP). Can you check if it mentions this cpxxxx.scexe component? It's possible since the firmware upgarde process is pulling the files form the network that it wont risk network disuption by flashing the nic.

Re: Server Deployment 7.2 Update 2 and NIC Firmware updates
No, it doesn't mention the relevent CPxxxxx.scexe components for the NIC firmware updates in the log.
If I run the HPSUM from the PXE booted linux image, and get it to produce a firmware report I get the following:

Re: Server Deployment 7.2 Update 2 and NIC Firmware updates
What happens if you simply boot to the Linux PE and run the cpxxxx.scexe for the NIC firmware manually.

Re: Server Deployment 7.2 Update 2 and NIC Firmware updates
It errors due to missing Dynamically linked libraries - libxml.so.2 I think.
