10Gb/Sec connectivity for DL980 Server with 665249-B21 HP Ethernet 10Gb 2P 560SFP+ Adptr
HI,
I am trying to connect my DL980 server to the 10Gb/sec network using the 665249-B21 HP Ethernet 10Gb 2P 560SFP+ Adptr with 455883-B21 SFP transceiver. I amusing Red Hat v6.6. I get no link light, and the status is donw from the OS:-
[root@lxtperpsoa02 ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.6 (Santiago)
[root@lxtperpsoa02 ~]# ip addr show eth6
8: eth6: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state DOWN qlen 1000
link/ether 8c:dc:d4:b0:6b:c0 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
[root@lxtperpsoa02 ~]# ethtool eth6
Settings for eth6:
Supported ports: [ FIBRE ]
Supported link modes: 10000baseT/Full
Supported pause frame use: No
Supports auto-negotiation: No
Advertised link modes: 10000baseT/Full
Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric
Advertised auto-negotiation: No
Speed: Unknown!
Duplex: Unknown! (255)
Port: Other
PHYAD: 0
Transceiver: external
Auto-negotiation: off
Supports Wake-on: d
Wake-on: d
Current message level: 0x00000007 (7)
drv probe link
Link detected: no
Do I need to set the speed, I see it does not support autonegotiation?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Andrew

Make sure the 10GB card is ENABLED on the bios (PCI).
Try to get the compatible firmware drivers in HP and Red Hat for ver. 6.6.
Good luck.
