Compaq UPS

Hi folks

I recently bought a Compaq server rack on eBay that contained a pretty heavy Compaq UPS (supposedly 1800 watts) alongside with a Proliant 5000 R and other stuff. The UPS seems to work fine, but i didn't get any documetation or software with it. The serial number of the UPS is A00228945, but searching the Compaq/HP website produced no info. Does anybody know where to get information about this UPS (especially about running it under Linux)?

Re: Compaq UPS

Sven,

Have you got any further information on the UPS, such as any other markings, size, port connections etc. I have a lot of old documentation but not sure which unit you have there.

Re: Compaq UPS

Hi

Thanks for all the quick replies.
The UPS is a 19" rackmount-unit, weighing about 150 lbs. and seems to have been manufactured by a company named "Deltec". Their sticker says "PRR 2200". Obviously the product was available in Europe (I bought the complete rack from T-Systems, which is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom). The front of the unit is plain besides the status LEDs and only has a Compaq logo on it. I've attached a quick picture of it (please excuse the poor quality, I've had to lay down in front of the rack to shoot it) :-)

I have no idea which UPS it could be.
Did the SN came from the little label right in your pic?

Carsten: Yep, that's the number.

In the meantime I managed to get LanSafe III (4.17) to communicate with the UPS, using the settings for "Legacy Compaq". So the bottom line is: Still don't know WHAT it is, but I've got it running anyway -- case closed! :-)

Thanks for all your help

Re: Compaq UPS

Deltec was the OEM manufacturer of the Compaq UPS devices.
