DL120 G6 Problem with P212/256 and P411/1G installed - Internal B110i refuses to work

Hi,

we are using a HP ProLiant DL120 G6 Entry Model with the following storage configuration:

- 4x 2TB HP Midline SATA MB2000EAMZF connected to internal B110i, configured as two RAID1

- HP SmartArray P411/1GB FBWC in PCIe Slot 2, with attached HP D2700, configured as RAID6, both ext. ports used for path redunancy

We tried to install an additional P212/256 SAS HBA in PCIe Slot 1 to attach a Quantum Superloader 3 to this server, but when we do so, the machine fails to boot, because the internal B110i don't came up. The server first detects the Superloader and LTO-drive on the P212, then the Array on the P411, then it stucks for ever.

My local reseller suspects, that the BIOS of the DL120 G6 is unable to handle two SAS-Controllers an the B110i simultaneously. The Quick Specs only show, that both controllers are supported, but not, if it will do it simultaneously.

Any hints?

Regards, Archetim
