DL180 G5 and 3TB drives (625030-001)
Attempting to use 3TB MDL SAS drives (625030-001) with my DL180 G5 (464505-005). The E200 recognizes that there are drives connected, but "sees" them as size 0.0 GB.
The controller firmware is v1.72, which seems to be the latest for the E200. I'm assuming that I'll need to update the BIOS from whatever it is, but I've read in the past that there are intermediate updates that need to be done for this family (DL18x G5) or risk bricking the system. Any pointers on what these intermediate steps are? source: http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/270510-hp-dl185-g5-does-not-post-after-bios-update I don't see the DL18x G5 on the Service Packs for Proliant support list. Am I missing it somewhere? Something else I might be overlooking to get this working?

Re: DL180 G5 and 3TB drives (625030-001)
hi,
The latest controller FW is 1.86 (B) (26 May 2010). You can try to update the controller and to check if the issue remains.
Thanks
regards,

Thanks for that note.
I updated the controller to 1.86. Drives still seen at 0.0GB by the E200.
I updated the BIOS on the server to 2010.10.25 (8 Dec 2010)
Same problem.
I update the BMC/LO100 to 3.20 (B) (22 Jun 2010)
Same problem.
Just to be clear, this drive (625031-B21) is specifically listed in the QuickSpecs for the E200.

Re: DL180 G5 and 3TB drives (625030-001)
Hello,
i have already faced this issue.
The solution is:
1-Update The HDD's Backplane
2-Update The HDD's Firmware
(it's important to do that before creationg the RAID, you can use the last Firmware DVD (SPP) from this link:
3-once the RAID is created, you have to use the offline 9.40 version of ACU (Array Configuration Utility):
or The offline 8.75 version (the one i have already tested):
I work for HP
