DL320 G5 won't boot anymore
Hi,
we have a DL320 G5 which I installed with RHEL4 and software-RAID (because their is no driver for the Matrix-RAID which will survive a kernel-upgrade).
However, it seems to have panic'ed yesterday and doesn't boot anymore.
Booting from the rescue CD shows the drives and software-RAIDs to be there and OK (at least for /boot).
Any ideas?
cheers,
Rainer

Re: DL320 G5 won't boot anymore
Hi, does the server boot till grub, if yes, does it show any errors? If so, try to reinstall grub from the rescue CD.

No, it doesn't boot to grub.
At least, not obviously.
cheers,
Rainer

Re: DL320 G5 won't boot anymore
Then does it recognize the hard drives & logical drive during POST? If it's not getting till grub, likely issue is with the logical drive or where the boot loader is loaded from.
I've seen this happening with Windows. It could be the same for Linux.
Most importantly, check if the grub entries are correct in boot/grub/. Try to reinstall grub from the rescue CD anyway.
