DL360 G7 Blue HDD Led's

I just got a 360G7 server, i setup the hdd's to raid 5 and everything is working well. I have a Debian 8 installation on it currently. What confuses me is all hd's do not display the blue health led. I can manually turn on the LED's on the drives through software provided by HP but they all end up shutting off over time. What could be causing this? how can i get the health LEDs to display?

Re: DL360 G7 Blue HDD LEDs

Are these blue health LEDs or blue locate LEDs?  (The latter may explain why they turn off.)

i am talking about the blue health LED's on each individual hard drive, the UID works fine and turns on and off by button press.

Re: DL360 G7 Blue HDD LEDs

green LEDs are for health, blue LEDs are for locate, red LEDs are for warning and fail.

Hope this helps!
