Re: DL380p Proliant Intelligent Provisioning Failure

I'm now faced with this issue.

Same hardware as well (DL380p G8)

I have HP IP v1.60 on the server - This does not seem to work though with 2012 R2 update 1

Finally get a version of HP IP that works with 2012 R2 and Microsoft comes out with it's first update to it

Am I going to have to install Server 2012 R2 and then update it instead of a fresh install?

Re: DL380p Proliant Intelligent Provisioning Failure

Hi Mike,

I can confirm this approach works. I installed Windows Server 2012 R2 (using Intelligent Provisioning) and then installed the Update (KB2919355) manually.

Please post a quick reply if you find a way to install from the Windows Server 2012 R2 Update ISO using Intelligent Provisioning. I haven't tried this but I'd be curious to know if anyone has gotten it working.

Cheers,

Matt

Ya, that way does work.  I've got it in the process now...  (update OS after install)

I just prefer doing fresh installs over upgrades - you know how it goes.

I have another to do after this one, and have more time to research.

Thanks

Re: DL380p Proliant Intelligent Provisioning Failure

I'm just posting this for completeness.

I reconfigured an existing ProLiant ML350e Gen8 server today. I updated Intelligent Provisioning from 1.50 to 1.60 (HPIP160.2014_0113.271.iso). I was then able to deploy "Windows Server 2012 R2 with Update" via IP.

Cheers,

Matt
