My query is "Does HP Proliant DL 380 G4 Product ID 379696-371 Server supports Virtualization Technology"

Given below are the Server details.

BIOS version                           P51 (07/19/2007)

Two Xeon Processors          3 GHz  1 MB L2 cache

RAM                                          2 GB

Product ID                               379696-371

Does the above mentioned Xeon Processor and BIOS version P51 both support Virtualization technology.

As I want to install the below mention Virtualization Software

1. VMWare ESXi 3.0 and later

2. Redhat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor

3.Citrix Xen Server 6

according this matrix, DL380G4 is compatible with ESX 3.5U4 - what is quite outdated product (currently there is ESX5.1).

Xen and RH virt compatiblity you have to check their pages.

But generally your server is not very suitable for modern virtualization platforms.

Thanks for the answer, but I already went through that virtualization matrix.

My problem is I cannot see the VT option in BIOS.

I also updated the BIOS to latest version.

Hello, I am afraid you will not found such option in bios as server (better CPU) does not support it. But anyway - you can still use older ESX 3.5 if you want... It was/is great virtualization technology.. You can even try newer ESX versions - but without HP/VMware support.
