Hello,
We would like to purchase some server HP Proliant DL380p - Gen8 - 8SFF
On the server we need to install:
1) GPU - NVIDIA Grid K1 - PCIe 3.0 × 16 - 130W (already purchased from third parties)
1) HP Brocade Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters - AP770B - PCIe 2.0 - 8x
Question 1:
We can use these two cards together on the primary riser, so without using 2 processors?
Question 2:
We have to use "HP DL380p Gen8 Double Wide Slot1 Riser Cage Kit" (752803-B21)
Or we can use the default riser?
Question 3:
The "Double Wide Slot1 Riser Cage Kit" (752803-B21) also supports single Wide GPU?
Thanks in advance

SolutionNVIDIA GRID K1 PCIe GPU FIO Adapter 730876-B21
NOTE: Each of the HP DL380p Gen8 Dbl Wide GPU Cage Kit (728543-B21 &752803-B21 ) supports 1xK1.
For 2 K1's to be supported you require the installation of the second processor, E5-2600v2 (only), and the 1200W Power supply (717359-B21)
HP DL380p Gen8 Double Wide Slot1 Riser Cage Kit 752803-B21
NOTE: Kit is required to support cards greater than 9.5", in the primary position only, and supports one double wide card and a single PCI card in this riser.
NOTE: This riser supports one single wide, or one double wide GPU option in the primary riser position
NOTE: The double wide riser cage kit is not supported in the 8LFF, 12LFF and 25SFF Configuration Servers
This is if you want to install additional GPU on 2nd riser but you have to install additional CPU and PS:
HP DL380p Gen8 Double Wide Graphic Processing Unit Drive Cage Kit 728543-B21
NOTE: Kit is required to support cards greater than 9.5", in the secondary position only.
NOTE: Two 1200W Power supply kits and 2 processors are required for this riser
NOTE: This riser supports two single wide, or one double wide CPU option in the secondary riser position
NOTE: The double wide riser cage kit is not supported in the 8LFF, 12LFF and 25SFF Configuration Servers.
Q1: Yes you can but only with double wide riser.
Q2: You must use double wide riser because PCIE slot is moved to the midle of riser because of doble width cards.
Q3. Yes

Re: GPU Double wide riser configuration - HP Proliant DL380p - Gen8 - 8SFF
Hi, since you seem knowledgeable, I have a question for you.
We would like to put in a single nvidia k80 gpu, do I need any adapter/riser card to fit this into a dl380p g8?
Thanks
