Dear All,

Mentioned Product number is 466440-B21.
Can you advise what is different for Low Power and Non-Low Power ?
It seems can be used on 380G5 server but any limited condition (low power CPU or chip set ... ??? ) ?
Thanks....

Hey.

The Low power memories are a bit slower than regular memories. And if you want to run with low-power memories you can't mix them with regular memories. Other than that there is nothing that stops you from using the low power memories.

Dear Cederberg,

So, low power RAM is cheaper product ? or that is "green" product to save power consumption.
Because it running at lowwer ram speed ?

Re: HP 8GB Fully Buffered DIMM PC2-5300 2x4GB Low Power Memory Kit

Hi.

I don't know about pricing diffrens. The Low-power memories is a "green" alternative and I think the specifikations are the same mostly. But to make the RAM more efficient thay have to sacrifice something so both may be "pc5300" but other specs may be diffrent to save power.

What i do know for a fact is that you can't mix Low-power and regular DIMM's in a server..

Hi Cederberg,
Thanks your kindly advise.
So, use the low power RAM just same regular RAM (for sure, can not mix), it do not need the special chipset on server.

Cody.
