HP ML350 G5 Inquiries on PCI Express slots
I have a HP Proliant ML350 G5, the integrated video is not functioning well (no more support). what i planned is to buy a video card but am confused because on the removable door it says slots 4,5 6 are pci express x8 (x4 routed) which means that x8 pci express card is supported but will run on x4 speeds. If I understood it correctly, the slots 5 and 6 (slot 4 is already used by adapter) are pci express x8 and not pci-express x4? so, If i wanted to buy a pci-express x16 video card, i would be needing a pci-express x8 to pci-express x16 adapter and not pci-express x4 to pci-express x16 adapter? Is this correct?
Thank you...

Re: HP ML350 G5 Inquiries on PCI Express slots
Hi,
I don't know any graphic card that has only a PCI Express x8 connector. In my opinion this could not work physically. I'd just go and buy (or look for an old one) PCI card that fits in on of the three PCI-X slots.
Best regards
