HP Proliant DL380 G5 Raid 5 Array Expansion

I am planning to expand the existing array in the HP Proliant DL380 Server. It has already got 4x146Gb hard drives with Raid 5 configuration. I am planning to add another 2x300Gb hard drives to expand the logical drive. This logical drive has got 4 partitions (C, D, E, F). I want to increase the size of E to 50% more, F to 25% more, C to 10% and D to 15% more. How can i increase the size of the partitions after I rebuild the array?

Hi, to expand an array you need to enter the ACU - array configuration utility - and expand the array in there.

After that you do some magic in the operating system.

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G5 Raid 5 Array Expansion

use the ACU to expand the aray then expand the logical drive using the same tool. It takes some time but can be done live. You will then have unallocated space in disk manager in windows but you need to use a 3rd part server partitioning tool to expand the windows logical volumes using the new unallocated spave created by the ACU maybe use diskpart i am looking into that myself
