HP Proliant DL380 G5 update firmware for component: dg072abab3
Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help. I have said server and recently we inserted a new hard-drive: DG072ABAB3 HP 72GB 2.5".
At the POST screen there is a message requesting that we upgrade the firmware for this component. We are running VMWare ESXi 5.0 and ideally we need to do this offline. I have had a look in the HP support sites, but seem to just get a series of circular links/expired links or only online updates - which are not possibly via Esx host (correct me if I am wrong).
I'd really appreciate it if someone could please outline the correct procedure that I need to follow?
Cheers,
Chris.

Download the Firmware below, mount the iso through ilo (or burn it) boot from it, it should have a manual or auto process and you're done. If you're using esxi I would suggest you use the HP tunned image.

Thank you very much both for answering! I'll give it a go either today or tomorrow and let you know how I get on.
Cheers,
Chris.
