HP Proliant DL380 GEN8 has phantom FAN failures reported
All,
Once or twaice per week our monitoring system alerts us that a particular DL380 GEN 8 server has a fan down. The problem is - no physical fans ever go down. Nothing posts in the Event Viewer. The fans (which includes the one extra redundant fan) all show green in the iLo System Information section.
Fan speeds are 1=6%, 2=6%, 3=6%, 4=34%, 5=43%, and 6=43%
Nothing about fan failures under the iLo Event Logs either.
Temperatures in iLo System Information are all OK.
When I contacted HP, they gave me HP document ID: c00871795. However, this seems to reference BladeSystems only.
Any ideas what could be causing these phantom alerts?
Thanks,
Bob
