HPSUM V7.1 error when starting

Hi,

We get the folliwng error when starting HPSUM (runing as administrator/login as local admin as well):

"HPSUM_service_x86.exe - Entry Point Not Found:

The procedure entry point InetPtonW could not be located in the link library WS2_32.dll"

We only get this on the following two servers which both have Server 2003 SP2 Std and IE7:

DL385G7

DL380G5

All of the 2008R2 servers run HPSUM without an issue.

Is this down to IE7 or am I overlooking something else ?

Any ideas would be appreciated !

Re: HPSUM V7.1 error when starting

Hi,

According to HP SUM 7.1.0 Release Notes:

Supported browsers
• Internet Explorer version 9, 10, or 11
• Firefox version 17 ESR (Linux) and version 18 (Windows) or later
• Chrome version 24 or later

Prerequisites
HP SUM uses the host system’s language settings to determine which language it displays.
For Windows, WS2_32.dll is required.

Regarding InetPtonW function, read this.

It could be either IE7 issue or WS2_32.dll

Thank You!

According to the release notes you need windows 2008 or 2012:

Hope this helps!
