Help: Expand DL380 G7 Disk Space

Hello everybody,

we currently use a ProLiant DL380 G7 with

2x 300GB SAS (6G DP 10K) HP Part: 507284-001

6x 1TB SATA MDL (3G 7.2K) HP Part: 626162-001

as a destination for Veeam Backup. Right now we are running out of disk space and want to expand the system in the most economical way. Therefore we are considering to replace the 1TB Harddisks wiht larger ones or to expand the system with a second drive cage /additional Disks.

What do you think is the best way? Is the system capable of handling disks larger then 1TB (HP or 3rd Party)?

Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Re: Help: Expand DL380 G7 Disk Space

Hi,

Refer to the Server QuickSpecs. page 47.

http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04199811.pdf

This server supports upto 4TB disks 3.5 inch size.

If going for another drive cage, second drive cage requires second controller or HP SAS Expander Card.

Thank You!
I am a HP employee
