How to configure HP DL 360 to perfrom NMI without ILO

Hi,

One of my customer does not have ILO licenses for his HP servers. We are facing an issue, where HP server get do not respond (hang) intermitantly. We are not seeing any errors in the OS (SLES10SP2) logs. The Hardware diagnostics also do not report any error.We would like to gather some informatiob when this happends again. I found some instructions to trigger the NMI request, when the server hangs. Please confirm if the below instructions are valid for HP DL 360 servers.

** To enable the kernel to call the panic routine when it receives an unknown NMI, edit the /etc/sysctl.conf file and ensure the following line is in the file:

kernel.unknown_nmi_panic = 1
