INTEL XEON L5639 [DL360/380 G6]
Hello,
I own few DL360 and 380 G6 servers , and i was wondering if someone tested this processor [ L5639 ] on this models.
This would be an upgrade from L5520 to L5639 and i'm not entirely sure if they will work on this G6 server models.
Thank you in advance.

Re: INTEL XEON L5639 [DL360/380 G6]
Considering the G7 version of your server only lists the L5630 and L5640, I can't see why the 5639 wouldn't work, but it doesn't seem to be anything ever tested by HP so you would be totally on your own when it comes to support.
Just out of curiosity, why do you need such low power usage?

Re: INTEL XEON L5639 [DL360/380 G6]
I try to have as low power usage possible because i collocate the servers and i have a limited 5Amps/22U space.
I also seen a lot of HP DL G6 servers on ebay for example that comes with this processor model , that's why i believe they should work without problems. Anyways , i did order two processors and will see it with my own eyes soon and update this topic in case anyone else may be interested.
As for the L5639 model , from my understanding this is not a retail processor. It's made specific for OEM's like HP and company like facebook. Details: http://www.servethehome.com/intel-xeon-l5639-inexpensive-lowpower-6c-12t-xeons/

Re: INTEL XEON L5639 [DL360/380 G6]
If you find another example and especially if it has an SE model number, post it here and I will try to check inside HP to see who they were built for and what the original spec was.

Re: INTEL XEON L5639 [DL360/380 G6]
I meant like this:
I had no doubt the processor you mentioned existed :)
I'm just wondering what the exact model number was on the HP server it came out of because the L5639 does not seem to be something offered by HP to the general public.
So I am assuming its an SE model server like the example above. (stolen from eBay)
