ML350 G5 Red Internal Health LED, system shutting down
Hi,
I have a ML350 G5 server.
on the front panel i can see the Internal Health LED being Red and the others all being green.
When i go and look at the system board, i can see
LED 2 - amber ( Processor 1)
LED 5 - amber ( Processor 2)
LED 7 - green (power)
either LED 11/10 or somewhere around that area - LED is red. there is no documentation on the red led on the system board.
this server initially shuts down every 5 days however it now shuts down after 3 hours after a reboot.
when it reboots, it correctly starts up windows server 2003.
unfortunately i don't have any other information.
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

Re: ML350 G5 Red Internal Health LED, system shutting down
How many psu's do you have in the server? ML350 G5 PSU have some issues due to which PPMs and CPU led fault lits amber, the very first thing I would do is to swap the PSU with a known good one ( even though this psu has a green led ) . Also check if IML has logged something

Re: ML350 G5 Red Internal Health LED, system shutting down
i replaced the psu and it seems to have resolved the issue.
instead when i shut down the system i get a microsoft visual runtime error... though not sure if its caused by the psu.
unfortunately... i couldn't access the IML log.

Re: ML350 G5 Red Internal Health LED, system shutting down
Im glad power supply has resolved it, Im positive that runtime error is not due to the power supply replacement, it has to do with the Microsoft runtime library

But not changing.
Trying another new PSU and backplain not changing.
Motherboard errors IERR led and CPU 0 amber and CPU cool not heating.
