Hello,
I have Proliant ML350 G6 server and three HD that I want to create RAID 5 on them. I reached the array configuration utility inside the server but it only gave me RAID 0 and RAID 0+1 options to create a RAID and for sure only allowed me to used RAID 0+1. When I used the SmartStart CD and in there I got only RAID 0 option. I have to use those three HD to be big enough to restore the SBS backup file. Is there a way to get RAID 5 option here??
Note: I used SmartStart 8.70.9 and updated Firmware to 9.2
Please advice, thanks

SolutionHi,
the ML350 G6 has an P410 Raid controller built in with different options.
The entry models (Product# 638180-xx1) have an Embedded HP Smart Array P410i/Zero Memory Controller which only can do RAID 0/1/1+0
The higher levels (Base and Performance) could also do Raid-5/5+0.

Re: ML350 G6 Raid 5 Creation
Hi,
As mentioned above if your model is a zero mem model then you will have no access to advanced raid modes.
To enable these all you have to do is buy a 512mb cache module, this will unlock raid 5 for you.
Hope this helps
Regards
Mark

Re: ML350 G6 Raid 5 Creation
Hello,
Thanks for the replies... yes it seems its the basic RAID Array Controler, thus no RAID 5 options.
