New SmartArray controller

I have an ML350 Server with a SmartArray 641 controller.  The controller is reporting that the batteries have failed, and write-back cache is disabled.  I have another SmartArray 642 controller I plan on replacing the 641 with.  How do I get the 642 controller to recognize the array as it was configured on the previous controller.  When I boot with the new controller, I only have the option to create a new logical drive.

Re: New SmartArray controller

Thearray configuration is actually stored in the RIS area on the disks themselves and not the controller. Make sure the new controller has the latest firmware installed.  Older firmware may not recognise a configuration created by newer firmware
