ProLiant Gen8 1000SX NIC option?

Hi,

I have a customer who requires a 1000Base-SX connection for his ProLiant DL380p Gen8 server to connect to a legacy infrastructure.

With prior ProLiant generations the NC373F adapter was available for 1Gb/s Ethernet connections using fibre optics, but that adapter doesn't seem to be supported on Gen8 servers (according to QuickSpecs and supported options matrix).

I couldn't find any other options to provide the server with the required connection. Did I miss something or is there no way to get 1000-SX on a ProLiant Gen8 Rackserver?

It's very important that the server in its entire configuration is fully supported by HP, so a third party adapter is not a viable solution and a media converter will have to be the last resort.

Any thoughts or experience (i.e. with NC373F on gen8 servers) would be much appreciated.

Not the cheapest solution, but the easiest is to get the 554 FlexLOM and run it at 1000Mb with a 1000Mb SFP.
