Proliant DL380 G3 USB Boot

I am trying to configure a DL380 G# to boot off a USB drive/key. Is there a way to do it? Does the hardware/BIOS support it?

Also is there an internal USB port on the motherboard/daughter-cards anywhere inside the server?

Re: Proliant DL380 G3 USB Boot

Although most Proliant servers can boot from a drive key, DL380 G3 is not one of them.
Check USB compatibility list on:

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/platforms/usb-support.html

And HP Drive Key Boot Utility compatibility on:

Re: Proliant DL380 G3 USB Boot

Great, just my luck. :-(

Actually, what I need to get running is a USB based NAS server (www.e-open.com) so it would have been nice to have the feature.

I am guessing a ROM update will not solve the problem either?

What about internal USB port? Does it have one of those?

No, it only has 2 USB 1.1 (external) ports.
