I buyed a new ML150 G5 (450162-421).
I don't understand wich combination are allowes with the six sata port on the motherboard.
I have this storage devices:
3 hard disks
1 Iomega Rev
1 Dvd Rom
I would configure in this way:
2 hard disk in raid1
1 hard disk for complete system backup
1 Iomega Rev for external backup
1 Dvd Rom for.... Dvd rom ! :-)
How can I set in bios the raid controller ?
In bios, I set controller #1 in raid mode.
Then, I connected the hard disks in sata 1, 2 and 3 connector (why 4 are black and two are blue?).
I configured the raid1 array inserting the first two hard disk but , after rebooting, i check this:
ARRAY 0 - RAID 1 - MIRROR
SATA JBOD - PORT 3 - NON-CONFIGURED
Is it correct ? Why the port3 hard disk is indicated as "non-configured" ?
Maybe is not possible to use first two connector like raid and the other two as single ?
Is there any configuration manual for raid controller embedded in the server ?
Thanks for your help

Re: Proliant ML150 G5 - Understanding raid configuration.
Configuring in this way the hard disks (2 in raid1 + 1 single), performance could have worsening respect the standard configuration (all pair of hard disk in raid array) ?
Best regards

Re: Proliant ML150 G5 - Understanding raid configuration.
Hi,
I read your comments but I don┬┤t undertand very well.
I have the same problem:
I had 2 disk in RAID 1 and then I added another one and configured this like single disk but after rebooting I check that the disk is non-configured.
Please, can you help me?
Thanks and best regards
