Raid Migration inc Exchange Data
Hi I currently have a ML350G5 with 2 146Gb drives running in a raid 1 (mirrored) setup. Would I be able to add an additional 146Gb drive and turn the array into a Raid 5?
This drive is currently holding the Exchange 2003 data so obviously wouldnt want this to be effected.
The server is running Windows 2003 and the Raid card is a Smart Array E200i embeded.
Thanks

Re: Raid Migration inc Exchange Data
Yes, but you need to installed the BBWC module (battery backed write cache) for the controller to support R5 and stripe/raid migrations.

Re: Raid Migration inc Exchange Data
Hi yes I do have the battery pack for this Raid controller.
So am I able to perform this live without any impact on the exchange data?

Re: Raid Migration inc Exchange Data
That looks like a 128 BBWC for a 640 controller, are you sure that's the part #? You can easily verify once the drives are inserted because if you have no BBWC then the options are greyed out.
