SSD hardware for for HP ProLiant DL580 G7 E7-4807
Hi i'm in a pocess of ordering
HP ProLiant DL580 G7 E7-4807 1.86GHz servers .
But we want some of the servers to be with SSD arrays. What arrays cards we will need to order to use the the SSD HDD's model 636593-B21 if we like to have option for array in RAID5 and RAID10 . Is it madatory to PCIe ioDrive Accelerator or is there any cheaper solution.
Thanks in advance

Re: SSD hardware for for HP ProLiant DL580 G7 E7-4807
You don't need a iodrive accelerator card to use SSD drives in your DL580 G7 server. The drive your refering to plugs in as a regular Harddrive in the server and uses the builtin raidcontroller.
The PCIe iodrive accelerator is a kind of SSD that is designed to use the PCIe bus to speed up access of that particular SSD that is built-in on the iodrive accelerator card. So it's not a card you connect your ssd's to
So they are two different products and are not dependent on eachother to work.

Re: SSD hardware for for HP ProLiant DL580 G7 E7-4807
So i don't actually need an separate array controller for the SSD's? Did the build in controller supports RAID5 or RAID 10 ?
Thanks in advance for the information it is very helpful .
