Smart Array P400 (cache upgrade)
im running the raid-card with the standard 256mb cache module, but im having 2 512mb caches laying around and wanting to upgrade the card with one.
and the all hell breaks loose... the card gives the error of "cannot start/boot card"
when i put the 'original' 256 back, it boots if nothing happend.
ive even have tryed booting the 2 512's with an spare P400, and that one boots also fine.
am at a loss here,
the server has been running now for 4 years.
the server, and the P400's have the latest firmware installed.
I run the following config:
HP DL185G5, thus 12drive's
- 2x WD Raptor, 300gb RAID1
- 1x WD Green, 800gb JBOD
- 3x WD Green, 800gb RAID5
- 3x WD Green, 800gb RAID5
- 3x WD Green, 800gb RAIID5
