I am supporting a number of older Proliant servers, DL360s and DL380 (G1 - G4) along with some PL1850s and a few others. All of these servers have names that look like this
DL380 R01 P733-256
or
PL1850 R 6/600 512
There are other variations. What dose "P733-256" or "6/600" mean? I'm guessing that the 256 and 512 denote the amount of RAM the machine shipped with, but I don't know what the other part is.
Never having supported these products before I'm trying to gather all the information I can on them, so any advice or direction on what these product numbers mean would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JP

Hi.
HP and Compaq do change their model numbering system occassionally just to make matters confusing..
The P733 is a Pentium processor running at 733 MHz and you are correct that the 256 is the original amount of RAM.
On the PL 1850R the 6 indicates it a Pentium Processor - the 600 its speed in Mhz (that would make it a Pentium 3) and the 512 is the amount of RAM.
