iLO3 HP Lights Out Configuration Utility - System.Xml.XmlException

I have a DL360 G7 with Windows Server 2008 (not R2) x64 and when I try to run the iLO config utility I get a .NET exception:

System.Xml.XmlException  There are multiple root elements.  Line2 position2

The utility loads but all fields are blank. Any attempt to use a menu itme produces the same .NET error.

The server is also running:

SQL server 2005 x64

VMware vCenter server 4

I have tried the following:

updated all server firmware from latest HP Firmware DVD

updated all HP software from latest SPP

installed .NET 3.5SP1

installed .NET 4

patched Windows up to date

rolled back to SPP 2012 version of HP iLO related software

uninstalled all iLO components and reinstalled with reboots at all stages

Any help gratefully received.

Hi,

Only a single root tag is permitted in an xml file, check whether the xml file is well formatted.

Do validate the XML Documents.

I'm now getting this error after updating manually to 1.32 (11 Nov 2013).

Was working before I updated.

Guessing it's a firmware release issue that needs to be fixed?

Solution: downgraded to 1.20. Fixed the issue
