ml110 g2 + RHEL 3.0 rel 6

hi everybody!

i have a problem starting embedded sata raid (4 port) on rhel 3.0 update 6 . when i add driver on installation , i get "no devices of appropriate type were found on the driver diskette..." , i tried every driver from ml110 driver page with no luck . http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hpLinuxcert.html
here it clearly says that rhel 3.0 is supported. can i use update 6 or should i go for earliet version?

Driver that I find on HP site is RPM bin file.
You can not use it until SETUP proces.
You cain install rpm after installation using
RPM command
But you still have problem. INstallation !

First:
If you have IDE disk install RH there and then install driver RPM from HP site.
2:
I'm not sure but you can take driver form RPM and then make driver disk.

can you tell me which driver you mean, because the last driver seems to be V1.19.V414A19.V041A7 , and there is a driver diskeete with the same version , and it doeas not work. i am sure there is problem with kernel versions, because suse driver works only for ofiginal installation and fails on service pack. but i really do not want to try all rhel 3 releases.

Try this

1.download disk from hp
2. mount img files :
mount - o loop accxxxxxxx.img /mnt
cd /mnt
3 get modules info
cp /mnt/modules.cgz /tmp/
mv modules.cgz modules.gz
gunzip modules.gz
cpio --list < modules
