18gig Ultra2

I have a 18 gig ultra2 scsi drive. Will it work in a LXpro that has the builtin scsi?

Re: 18gig Ultra2

What is the part number of the 18GB drive you have?

There is a compatible hot swap 18GB drive, the D5039A.

This part is no longer produced by HP. But, you might be able to find it at:

http://www.pmount.com

Or, you might be able to find other online resellers that have it in stock by just searching for that part number on:

http://www.pricewatch.com

or

http://www.google.com

Re: 18gig Ultra2

The drive I have is part number D7031.

It is a 18.2 Gig Ultra2 SCSI accessory drive.

I placed it in the lxpro, and it fails to be seen during boot up.

Re: 18gig Ultra2

The drive you have, is not compatible with your system. The part# alicia used is the drive you need. The drive you have uses a different backplane (where the drive plugs in) than the one used in the LX Pro.

I can???t say for sure on this because I have not tested it on this kind of drive but if the SEA connector fits then a reason it might not be seen is that it is jumpered on the drive for LVD it needs to be SE for that type of drive cage. Take the drive out of the tray and look for a jumper to change this setting.
