HP Microserver G8 - B120i / RAID1 with ESXi6.0
I've seen some reference to using ESXi on a HP Microserver G8 in a B120i RAID 1 configuration.
What i'd like to know is assuming this is a supported VMware configurtion am I able to see the status of the RAID array from within ESXi, i.e. how would I know if I have a disk failure.
Also I intend to use a pair of Seagate 4TB NAS drives have 4TB drives been proven to work (I've seen some issues in relation to 6TB drives).
Thanks in advance.

Re: HP Microserver G8 - B120i / RAID1 with ESXi6.0
Yes, You can see RAID status array within ESXi. You can see this through ILO also.
There shouldn't be any problems with 4TB or any other size disks.
But the problem is HP ESXi driver for B120i. Hard drive performance is extremely poor. Even SSD speed is like HDD 20 years ago (sequential read speed from SDD is 22-23MBps).
HP still don't fix it. After ESXI install (and upgrades) You should downgrade hpvsa diver to version 088.
