HP Microserver G8 wont boot after OS Installation
The device, just a few weeks old was working but has seemed a bit flakey since I got it. The current issue is the device wont see any storage onto which the operating system has been installed. The server just keeps saying:
"Non-system Disk, replace ......"
The sever looks for an OS on the USB, HD CD as per bios but none are found.
I have tried various OS's. (ESXi is what Im trying to install at the moment)
I have reloaded the BIOS
I have tried on USB and HDD.
The guy on the HP is telling me I need to install HP drives only. If this is the case I will return the item as this is rediculous. I know many people running these devices with non-HP drives.
I have also tried installing with ALL HHDs removed
Hoping I can get some help soon as this device has not been used since it has been purchased (3 weeks)
Thanks, T

Re: HP Microserver G8 wont boot after OS Installation
Hi:
Maybe you can try to set your boot device order in RBSU, wrong device boot order may cause this error.

Re: HP Microserver G8 wont boot after OS Installation
Hi,
I did this. I tried setting the USB as the first device when I was installing to USB and the HDD to first device when I installed to the HDD.
Thanks, T

Re: HP Microserver G8 wont boot after OS Installation
Are you using the B120i Controller or SATA AHCI?
If you are using the former, did you select the B120 as your bootable controller? See page 6
