How to identify Specs by Serial Number
I have an old Compaq Proliant 1600 with a Pentium III in an office abroad. I have the serial number. How can I find the exact specs of the machine? Is there somewhere online I can type the numbers in to get a read-out of what was shipped?

When you get results you will get some number like 123456-001
Just drop that number at www.hpe.com search field

if you post digits 5-8 of serial number, I can tell you what the standard specs are. (e.g. BWT1 or CSD1)

It's not obvious. But if you click on "Replacement Parts" under Support & drivers. Here is the link below. They ask for the part no. and Serial no.
