Not able to remote Access HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 from home

Hello ,

I am  university Student,for some project of mine i was given access to the server to store data and other applications.

But i was told,that i could remotely access the server.But i am not able to do so.

I had to be on the University network,to access the server,but i am trying it with Win 8.Is it possible with win or should i go with linux.

Can someone please guide me through the process,as i am not able to login.

What do you mean by 'remote access'?  just being able to map a drive? Console access?  If you can accomplish what your trying to do on the university network, you may need some type of VPN access to access the system from home
