What memory should I use with MicroServer Gen8 G1610T

Hi All,

I just got my first HP Proliant MicroServer Gen8 to be used at home as a media server, file server, backup basicly to support my household needs, it came with 2GB of RAM but not enough...I've read in the Support Guide that NonECC memory's are not supported so what type of memory should I get ? ECC are kinda expensive :(

Thanks for reading!

Re: What memory should I use with MicroServer Gen8 G1610T

I find that the quickspecs on the new MicroServers is a HUGE help. Since there are only 2 DIMM slots..page 19 shows the configs you can use and 16GB is max. UDIMMs are a bit expensive..if you want to jump to 8GB (2 x 4GB) you'd be looking at about 100 each stick. just a rough guess. Depends on what proc you're using as well. The more info you can give the better answer I can get for you! Thanks!
