P411 with v5.12 firmware hangs on boot
I know it's a little unusual, but we're using a HP Smart Array P411 in a Dell PowerEdge R200 - mainly because it's a good specification card and was sold simply as a SAS/SATA generic controller on eBuyer.
The card as shipped came with v2.74 but we'd like to upgrade the firmware because we sometimes get a situation very similar to this HP article: http://tinyurl.com/ckv7qez
I upgrade the firmware this weekend but the R200 then refused to boot. It went through "Initializing" and found the two arrays but then just sat there. I took the card out and put it in a PC with a spare PCI-E slot and it booted on that system which allowed me to put v2.74 back on.
So it looks like v5.12 has a problem with the Dell PowerEdge R200.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Rob.
