ppt_library_4x3_divider-06.pngKatherine Lam, the product management person of ArcSight Express and I sat down where she helped me understand why this is the disruprtive change for the SIEM solution market. Kathy said "When asked for the reasons of why most organizations aren’t 100% secure, it’s not because they haven’t invested. It’s not because they don’t think it is a priority. It’s because of one thing: change".

The IT environment is changing, the threats are changing, and the goal of security is changing. Securing an organization is like trying to protect the president, without advance knowledge of his travel agenda, his method of transport and what guards will be available in his security detail.

When your business is using analytics to provide them with useful data points, why isn’t your security team using the data your company is generating to help keep you safe? Enter Express 4.0, HP ArcSight’s latest refresh of the SIEM appliance. It does many things, but one thing extremely well. It provides SIEM capabilities at the blink of an eye so you can monitor change. In under 10 minutes, HP ArcSight Express 4.0 can give you visibility into your environment so you can tell whether your business is under attack.

HP ArcSight Express 4.0 can process more events, faster. It integrates with collectors straight out of the box, and it integrates with big data, so that context can be applied intelligently to events happening in your environment. In one case study, a customer was able to combine our SIEM with Autonomy’s big data solution to prevent the loss of company intellectual property from leaving their network and falling into the wrong hands.

Furthermore, Express 4.0 comes pre-bundled with security analytic rule sets to understand what each user is doing inside your network (IdentityView), and whether network traffic is flowing to and from IP addresses that have been deemed as malicious or suspect (RepSM). This helps companies detect fraud, as well as see if they are under attack. By knowing more about themselves, companies can become more proactive with their data and what access they give their users. They can begin to understand whether each change they introduce into their system will help them with their

business goals, or make them more susceptible to attacks.

In today’s world of security, it’s better to be safe, than sorry.
