Time outs not alerting
I have an entire remote office that lost it's WAN connection. I have a task setup to alert on an event query. Critical, Major, Minor and Normal status. Also Events of type (Backup, Generic, NIC, Remote Monitoring, Security, Storage,System & Environmental, and Unknown).
I have it setup to email me. I didn't receive any emails concering the servers in the remote office.
I may not have the query set up correctly. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Time outs not alerting
Can you post the exact queries that you are using? And the SMTP server you are pointing to wouldn't happen to be in the remote office, would it?

Re: Time outs not alerting
Brent,
As above, the query's are set up as follows:
Event(s) of severity:
Critical, Major, Minor and Normal Event Severity
AND
Events of Type:
Backup, Generic, NIC, Remote Monitoring, Security, Storage, System & Environmental, and Unknown
(All options are selected under each folder)
AND
Devices by Server Name.
There are 4 such query's, as we have 4 tiers of importance for our servers. Each server belongs to only 1 tier.
The management server is not located in the remote office.
In addition, it turns out the WAN went down. I know in older versions of IM, the inaccessable alert would go off. Is there a similar alert in CIM7? In other words, what type of query do I set up if the CIM7 server can no longer see a server.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Time outs not alerting
Ooops. The SMTP server is located in my local office.
