servers turning MAJOR
My servers which are connected to a shared library through a SAN show a "MAJOR" status when this library is put off-line by an operator. We don't want this because a trap is already sent by the library itself to CIM7 to advise this but can't find a way to filter this.
Can someone please help?

Re: servers turning MAJOR
Unfortunately there isn't a way to filter this. The systems don't know the difference between the library losing power or dying and a planned downtime.
However, you could change the polling interval in IM7 to skip the maintenence window for the library (and the servers themselves too) by editing the SNMP Status Polling for Servers task and adding a time filter option to only poll during production hours.

Dude, we've been totally misled by our album covers!

Re: servers turning MAJOR
Thk you Scott,
yr comment is helpful but not always applicable: a lot of unscheduled interventions during the day (e.g. restores) put the libraries offline and they log a major event in CIM7. Would be great to be able to change the severity of the event from major to minor or informational.
