Error when import certificate

Dear friends,

I have some trouble when create the SSL Self Signed Certificate. I got the keytool error: "java.lang.Exception: Certificate not imported, alias <servicemanager> already exists”. Please see the detail on the attached image.

I assume that this is because of I have missed the step to uninstall the original certificate from my server.

Please correct me if I am wrong and also, could you please let me know the step to uninstall the original certificate.

Thanks a lot in advance and Best regards,

Re: Error when import certificate

There are many examples in a net about this, I've used following in a .bat file:

---

set JAVA_HOME="C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_24\jre"
set KEYTOOL=%JAVA_HOME%\bin\keytool

set CACERT_PASSWD=changeit

%KEYTOOL% -delete -noprompt -alias smserver -keystore certs\cacerts -storepass %CACERT_PASSWD%

---

where

- %Keytool% is the Java path

- %CACERT_PASSWD% the password you have defined to the CA you created

Remember to also change

* -alias smserver -> to alias <thealiasyouwanttoremove>

* - keystore certs\cacerts -> to folder where the cacerts file is located

Re: Error when import certificate

Hi Kelalek,

Thank you for the information! One more question, could you please help me to check if the following command is correct:

to C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\keytool> -delete -noprompt -alias servicemanager -keystore C:\Program Files\HP\Service Manager 7.11\ssl\certs\cacerts -storepass changeit

Thanks again!

Re: Error when import certificate

How do you uninstall/remove the SSL Cert with the alias that you are wanting to use?
