Need to relocate HP CFS cluster nodes from Source Datacenter to New Destination Datacenter
Dear Concern,
In our environment, we have a two nodes MC/Service Guard CFS cluster with Oracle RAC (in HP-UX V3). Now we are planning to relocate our existing Datacenter (DC). But the main challenge is that it is not possible to take long down time from our business. That’s why we are planning to spare one cluster node from the existing cluster. This means that, we need to detached one node of the cluster, relocate it to the target Datacenter & start the CFS cluster along with same file system as in source Datacenter & point application users.
Beside this please note that below points:
1) We will replicate all the disks/LUN of the source CFS cluster to the target Datacenter Storage using EMC SRDF technology. That is, we will do a storage replication from source DC to target DC.
2) IP address of Target Datacenter (DC) will remain same as source DC. This will be achieve using Switch fabric ISL.
3) Before starting the Target CFS Cluster node, we will stop source Datacenter (DC) CFS cluster node.
Now our query, Is the above action is technically feasible or is there any other alternatives to achieve the same
Thanks
Minhaz
