CAPI Proxy and VDS Provider - do I need these?
Hello-
Apologies in advance for overly simplistic question. My company uses a P2000 G3 SAS MSA. All connections to hosts are provided via SAS cables and no iSCSCI/FC is in use. In addition, clustering is not in use. The MSA is simply being used to provide several RAID 10 sets for various applications - Exchange, Hyper-V, etc. On my Exchange server, I see the CAPI Proxy 2.8.3 and VDS Provider 2.8.3 installed. Is there any reason I need these components? I am not using the P2000 for shadow copies, etc. Thanks

Re: CAPI Proxy and VDS Provider - do I need these?
Hi, these two components (CAPI and VDS/VSS) are must for your application to access the storage device thru the VDS/VSS service. These manages the disk volume that is mapped from the MSA's.
Let me know if there is any question around this topic.
