EVA 4100 software upgrades

Hi All.

We have recently taken reception of an EVA 4100 that was located in one of our other offices.

It is still under maintenance (but no for long), but it has never been updated.

So i would like to update.

All i have is Command View 7, and despite numerous calls to HP they cannot supply me with any media. Neither 7 or 8

From the posts i have read i cannot upgrade direct to 9 because the SAN XCS firmware needs to be upgraded to support this.

So we are in a catch 22.

All i can get from the various HP sites are the upgrade patches. eg 7.0.1 or 8.0.2, which are no good to us, because they both require 7.0 or 8.0 to be installed first.

Does anyone know where i can get these downloads from or even media,

What XCS version is running?

Command View 9.4 should work with almost all XCS versions for this EVA.

The version that shows when you go via the controller menu is:

HSV200-V6110

OCP Firmware FW:1.9 API:1.2

will 9.4 be compatible and can i install this with no prior version installed on the server?

XCS 6.1xx is compatible to CV 9.1 and up to the current CV 10.2.

see "HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility Reference"


So update CV to 10.2 (uninstall the old, install the new), then XCS to 6.250, then the disks.

I will try and uninstall and install 10.2.

we always received the error that the full product hasd to be installed before an upgrade. eg 7.0 had to be present to install 7.01 and so.

Forget about the upgrade, there is usually nothing to keep.

Get CV10.2, read and follow the install guide.
