HP P2000 G3 MSA iSCSI multipath

Dear all,

i´ve the following question:

P2000 G3 iSCSI Dual Controller.

4 x iSCSI port on each controller = 8 iSCSI Targets

Is there any way to team / bond the nic´s  to get more performance like 4 M/bit.

regards,

Alexander

Re: HP P2000 G3 MSA iSCSI multipath

Teaming & bonding isn't supported for iSCSI - it's not a HP or P2000 specific issue, it's a protocol issue, it's not recommended.

What you can do is utilize MPIO (Multi-Path Input/Output). MPIO is configured on the server side to define multiple paths for your server to reach the SAN by utilizing a combination of multiple NICs on the server and multiple ports on the SAN controllers (but it doesn't have to be a 1-to-1 ratio, you can have, for example, 2 NICs and 8 iSCSI SAN ports and define paths from each NIC to all 8 iSCSI SAN ports). I did a quick search on the internet to see if I could find a good explanation... and I actually found a very detailed blog post that explains and demonstrates using Windows Server 2012 and a P2000 iSCSI SAN.

Hope this helps!
