PSP option and multipath setting with HP P2000G3 Fc and vsphere 5.1
Hello
I have to make a configuration consisting of two servers (hp proliant dl360 g7 )with vSphere 5.1 u1 and a storage HP P2000g3 FC.
I tried to look on the HP website if there are best practice for configure the P2000 with vsphere 5.1 but I only found this document "Configuration best practices for deploying VMware vSphere 4.1 on the HP P2000 G3 MSA Array combo controller" that covers vsphere version 4.1.
My question is as follows:
I have to make the necessary configurations for 4.1 even in version 5.1?
I am referring to the round robin configuration that in version 4.1 is configured with this command
esxcli nmp SATP setdefaultpsp - SATP VMW_SATP_ALUA - psp VMW_PSP_RR
and the IOPS option
Best practices for changing the default PSP option
As a best practice, change the default PSP option for VMW_SATP_ALUA to VMW_PSP_RR for P2000
G3 SAN environments. Secondly, there are default for optimal system performance with the P2000 G3,
configure the round robin load balancing selection to IOPS with a value of 1. This has to be done for
every LUN using the command:
esxcli nmp round robin setconfig - type "iops" - iops 1 - device
naa.xxxxxxxxx
thanks
greetings
