RA4100 connected to FCA2214
Hi
We´ve inherited some RA4100 Boxes (SerNr. G135DBX12657, Firmware 2.60) and tried connecting them to our ProLiant DL380 G3 servers (W2K3 Enterprise Server SP1), each equipped with an FCA2214 Fibre Adapter ("Qlogic QLA23xx PCI Fibre Channel-Adapter" version 5.2.3790.1830).
ACU finds them as "RA4000/4100 Controller" and we can configure Arrays, all works fine.
But the configured Arrays never show up by the OS ! "Disk Management" only shows the internal Disks !
Changing the drivers of the FCA2214 to newer ones only stops the ACU from finding the RA4100.
How can we use the RA4100 ?
Any suggestions appreciated !
Thanx and Regards
Alex

Re: RA4100 connected to FCA2214
Do you have the old HP Emulex based HBAs you could try? You might try connecting it to an older model server first and updating the firmware it updating it from the G3 doesnt work.

Re: RA4100 connected to FCA2214
Finally we got it working.
But only with some older Emulex 7000 Adapters, we think there´s no way of using the FCA2214.
Hope that helps
