Disk Problem on Continuous Access EVA4400 with ESX server
Hi everybody,
I have two HP EVA4400 in replication with CA.
Let me know if you can change a VDisk's UUID.
I have a problem on ESX machines,
when I do a failover from one storage to another,
ESX servers do not recognize the LUNs because they have different UUID.
Hope to have your news as soon as possible!!
Thanks

have you verified that the VDisks have the same LUN number to all the ESX hosts? That can cause many problems.

Re: Disk Problem on Continuous Access EVA4400 with ESX server
You cannot change an object's UUID, because this would corrupt the internal object relationship database. You can, however change a virtual disks's "World Wide LUN Name:" (which is usually the same as the UUID) when the virtual disk is unpresented.

I agree with Uwe, but anyway, CA replicates also the WWLN of the disks. If you break the replica, then you can specify a different WWLN, but should not be necessary.
